EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) — As of Friday morning, Aug. 21, barricades are being removed and streets are reopening following yesterday’s train derailment, according to the El Paso Police Department.
Roadways include Willow and Yandell, Texas and Cotton, and Cotton and Missouri are closed.
As KTSM 9 News previously reported, the derailment occurred near North Cotton Street, leaving several railcars overturned.
Bridges near Central El Paso Rail Yard derailment ‘untouched’
The scene was turned over to Union Pacific for cleanup and removal of the derailed train cars.
The incident is under investigation. There were no injuries reported.
