LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Triple digit heat isn’t going anywhere across the South Plains, and the hottest days are still to come.
Heat Advisory remains in place until 8 p.m. for the eastern half of our viewing area where temperatures are expected to climb around 105 degrees in some locations.
A slim chance for isolated storms late this afternoon or evening. However, most of us will stay dry.

Tomorrow will be even hotter. Most areas will surpass 100 degrees with some places east of the Caprock, reaching 109.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect tomorrow at noon until 8pm across the same area. Another slight chance for a handful of storms during the evening. But most will stay dry.

Heat peaks around Monday and Tuesday. Lubbock could reach around 104 degrees for several days in a row.
Temperatures will peak during the late afternoon, generally between 3 and 6 p.m. each day.
This extreme heat can become dangerous quickly, especially for people working outdoors, older adults, children, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.
