Free Roam Brewery was one of many places in Boerne holding a watch party to cheer on the hometown team as the Boerne Little League squad competes among the world’s best in Williamsport, Pennsylvania.
The Boerne Little League team is making its second trip to the Little League World Series in three years. Win or lose fans say they are proud of the Journy their small town team made to get to the world stage.
“There are no words that can describe it to have the name of Boerne spoken all throughout the world,” said Tia Flournoy, vice president of Boerne Little League.
Flournoy says the community has rallied around the team, from watch parties to parades and send-offs.
“Not only this watch party but the parades, the send-offs, everything has been just really overwhelming,” said Flournoy.
Coach Brent Holmes, who trains the team in strength and agility, says he loves seeing the players’ hard work pay off and the excitement they have created throughout Boerne.
“Whether it’s in here training or you’re at the Valero getting a cup of coffee or some gas, you can just feel the excitement,” said Holmes.
The Boerne boys have proven they’ve earned a spot among the best in Little League Baseball, with their hometown community cheering them on along the way.
