There are very few things that can get my attention faster than the words “cat” and “wine.”
Put them together and I’m listening!
So as both a self-proclaimed cat lady and someone who enjoys a good glass of wine, I feel uniquely qualified to tell you about the newest wine at Zin Valle Vineyards.
It’s sparkling, it’s sweet and, most importantly, it’s inspired by a cat! And it’s called MEOWScato.
I approve.
Meet Truffles, Zin Valle’s Famous Winery Cat
If you’ve spent any time at Zin Valle Vineyards, there’s a chance you’ve already met the inspiration behind its newest wine.
Her name is Truffles, and she’s become something of a celebrity around the vineyard.
In fact, Zin Valle calls her its “cat ambassador.” Regular visitors ask for her, newcomers have fallen in love with her, and Truffles even has her own Instagram account. Zin Valle recently held an entire Sip & Paint event where guests painted portraits of her!
Basically, this is Truffles’ vineyard. Everyone else just works there. And now her résumé includes wine muse.
Zin Valle recently released MEOWScato, a new sparkling Moscato dedicated to Truffles- and yes, they actually trademarked the name.
As someone who has now learned all of this about Truffles, I love her and fully support her growing business empire.
So What Does MEOWScato Taste Like?
MEOWScato is a sparkling Moscato made from Muscat grapes, which are known for producing sweet, incredibly fragrant wines. Zin Valle says you may notice aromas of orange blossom, honeysuckle, pear, peach and apricot.
In other words: light, sweet and bubbly.
They recommend pairing it with spicy Asian food, soft cheeses or vanilla, almond and berry desserts.
Personally, I just know I need to get myself to Zin Valle and try a glass!
Wine Lovers Now Have Another Reason to Visit Zin Valle
Zin Valle has been producing wine in far West Texas for more than 20 years, and its tasting room has become a familiar getaway for wine lovers around El Paso. The vineyard is in Canutillo near the Texas-New Mexico state line and regularly hosts live music, tastings and special events.
But there’s something I especially love about a winery that doesn’t take wine so seriously that it can’t name a bottle MEOWScato after its cat.
Wine can be intimidating. Zin Valle has built much of its experience around making it approachable and fun- and I can’t think of anything more approachable than sipping a sparkling Moscato inspired by Truffles while Truffles herself wanders around the vineyard.
As a wine lover, I’m intrigued. As a cat lady, I’m already sold!
Now I just need to meet Truffles.
