SAN ANTONIO — State troopers arrested a driver early Saturday morning after a high-speed vehicle pursuit ended with a crash onto a runway at San Antonio International Airport, according to preliminary police radio transmissions.
The pursuit began around 1:30 a.m. when a Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) trooper attempted a traffic stop on 2012 Chrysler passenger car near the intersection of Babcock and 410.
According to DPS, the Chrysler evaded through various parts of the city until they crashed into a gate off of Jones Maltsberger Road, into the San Antonio Airport Runway.
Troopers took the driver, a 25-year-old man, into custody at gunpoint shortly after the crash. Troopers also located a firearm in the vehicle.
He was arrested for Evading in a Motor Vehicle and Unlawful Carrying of a Weapon.

The driver’s identity, potential charges, and details regarding any flight disruptions at the airport were not immediately available.
