The two women who died in a wrong-way crash on Texas 121 in Fort Worth early Aug. 18 have been identified as a mother and grandmother, according to family friends.
A GoFundMe has been established to cover funeral expenses for 32-year-old Tyler Triplett and her mother, Randi Holshouser. According to police, a Jeep traveling east in the westbound lanes collided head-on with the women’s vehicle. Both died at the scene.
The Jeep’s driver also died in the accident but has not yet been identified by the Tarrant County Medical Examiner.
Triplett’s 11-year-old daughter, Ranleigh, was critically injured and remains hospitalized. She’s had to undergo several surgeries, according to the GoFundMe. Donations received through the fundraiser will also help pay for her medical expenses.
A man riding with the victims was also injured, police said. His relationship to the family and the extent of his injuries isn’t clear.
A longtime friend of Holshouser told Star-Telegram media partner WFAA-TV that he’s still trying to process his grief.
“Going to miss our conversations,” the friend said. “She never judged anybody.”
He added that Holshouser and Triplett were “very good people,” WFAA reported.
The GoFundMe had raised nearly $5,000 toward a $20,000 goal by noon Saturday.
