LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Another HOT day for the South Plains with a high of 102 degrees in Lubbock. Tomorrow will even be hotter with the potential for a new record high of 105 degrees.
Due to the hot temperatures and possible record the KCBD weather team has designated tomorrow as a First Alert Weather.

A Heat Advisory will be in effect for most of the central South Plains with an Extreme Heat Warning for the eastern South Plains. The communities along and east of the Caprock may experience another day of extreme heat with highs from 105 to near 110 degrees.
Temperatures at and above 100 degrees creates dangerous heat exhaustion for those working and doing activities outside.
Remember to drink plenty of fluids; take breaks during the day and seek shade and/or air conditioning to get some relief from the heat.

Fortunately, there will be some relief with afternoon high temperatures expected to drop below the century, hopefully by Wednesday and rain chances will return to the region for a few days late week.
