The Dallas Express Sports Network will learn Monday night whether its Cowboys roundtable won a 2026 Lone Star Sports Emmy.
The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts & Sciences will begin the ceremony at 6:30 p.m. CT at Echo Lounge & Music Hall in Dallas. Doors open at 5 p.m., and dinner begins at 6 p.m. The chapter says viewers who cannot attend can stream the show through the EMMYS app.
The Lone Star Chapter serves all 19 television markets in Texas and presents regional Emmy awards for professional achievement in broadcasting.
The chapter nominated “Jerry Flipped The Bird – Dak Flipped The Script” in the Sports Interview/Discussion – Single Program category. DXSN announced the nomination July 9, as previously reported by DX. The program lists Kevin Morrell as producer and Chris Yates as host.
The team produced the episode before Dallas Sports Network merged into DXSN. The show focused on Cowboys owner Jerry Jones’ $250,000 NFL fine for making an obscene gesture toward New York Jets fans and whether quarterback Dak Prescott had changed the conversation around his comparisons with Tony Romo.
Three-time Super Bowl champion Tony Casillas joined Mark Elfenbein, Will Koberg, Jaimie Kelton and Scooter Magruder for the discussion. The panel used a roundtable format to break down the fine, Prescott’s play and the wider state of the Cowboys.
The category also includes “The Kick: ’26 FIFA World Cup Draw Behind the Scene” from FC Dallas and “The Panel with Jonah Javad: A Mother’s Day Special” from WFAA, according to the nominee list.
The Dallas Express launched DXSN in February with year-round coverage and veteran sports voices. The Emmy opportunity comes roughly six months after that launch and gives the network another milestone in its first year.
