LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – The Lubbock veteran community is inviting people to attend a remembrance service this week for American service members killed in the Middle East five years ago.
The service will honor the 13 military members who died during the American withdrawal from Afghanistan.
ISIS claimed responsibility for the suicide bombing at Abbey Gate at Hamid Karzai International Airport.
The service will be held Wednesday evening at 6:30 p.m. at the Monument of Courage near 84th and Nashville.
The VFW, local Purple Heart chapter and the West Texas Veterans Cemetery Honor Guard invite everyone to attend.
