The Mavericks will have to play another game without a few key players due to injury.
Forward Anthony Davis is out for Saturday night’s Mavericks-Wizards matchup, Mavericks head coach Jason Kidd told reporters. That marks the fifth straight absence for Davis, who was initially upgraded to questionable ahead of the game.
Meanwhile, shooting guard Klay Thompson has been ruled out with an illness.

Center Daniel Gafford is available Saturday night. He was originally listed as questionable with a right ankle sprain. Dereck Lively II has been ruled out with a right knee sprain.
Davis has missed the last four games after exiting the Mavericks’ win over the Pacers on Oct. 29. He was listed as doubtful for the Mavericks’ loss to the Grizzlies Friday on the first night of a back-to-back.
The Mavericks, who are averaging a league-worst 106 points per game, have sorely missed Davis’ scoring. The Mavs have lost four straight games in his absence.
In five games this season, Davis is averaging 20.8 points, 10.2 rebounds, 1.6 steals and 1.2 blocks.
Thompson has had a rough start to the season, averaging 7.6 points on 31.6% shooting. He is coming off a scoreless outing against the Grizzlies on Friday in what was his second straight game coming off the bench.
Kidd told reporters that he’s expecting Ryan Nembhard and Jaden Hardy to provide a spark for Dallas in Thompson’s absence.
