SAN ANTONIO – The San Antonio City Council continue today digging into the city’s proposed fiscal year 2027 budget during a work session Tuesday.

Council members are scheduled to hear from city staff about proposed spending and priorities for several departments, including Human Services, Metro Health, Animal Care Services and Development Services.

The discussion comes as city leaders work through a challenging budget process and weigh how to balance city services and programs with a projected budget shortfall.

City staff will brief council members on the proposed funding for each department and answer questions as council works toward adopting a final budget.

The council may also meet behind closed doors to discuss certain legal, economic development, real estate and collective bargaining matters.
