The Portland Fire officially dropped out of playoff contention with Tuesday’s 96-78 road loss in Dallas.

Dallas raced to a 12-3 lead in the game’s opening minutes and never trailed in the lopsided win. The Wings grew their lead to as many as 26 points in the fourth quarter, while shooting 38-for-69 (55.1%) for the game.

Paige Bueckers led Dallas with 22 points. Bridget Carleton and Karlie Samuelson shared the scoring load for Portland with 14 points apiece.

The result sets the eight teams for the WNBA playoff bracket with two weeks left in the regular season.

Portland (15-23) returns to the court with a game in Atlanta at 4:30 p.m. Friday.
