Corpus Christi pauses new short term rental permits through November

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — New short term rental permits are on hold in Corpus Christi as city leaders take another look at the rules already in place.

Council did not approve the larger ordinance changing the definitions and rules for Type 1 and Type 2 rentals.

Existing permits were not revoked. Applications already submitted before the vote are expected to be reviewed under the previous rules.

During the pause, city staff will work with stakeholders to address concerns and develop new rules for council to consider.
