EL PASO, Texas (KFOX14/CBS4) — Former U.S. Rep. Beto O’Rourke is scheduled to join Texas gubernatorial candidate Gina Hinojosa for a meet-and-greet at the University of Texas at El Paso.
The event is set for noon Aug. 31 at the Thomas Rivera Conference Center in Union Building East, according to a social media post shared by UTEP College Democrats and Hinojosa’s campaign.
The event is geared toward UTEP students and will offer attendees an opportunity to meet Hinojosa, a Texas state representative who is running for governor.
O’Rourke, an El Paso native and former Democratic candidate for U.S. Senate and Texas governor, is listed as a special guest.
Organizers said space is limited.
The general election will be held on November 3.
