Firefighters found flames coming from the back and roof of the restaurant on Monday night. No injuries were reported.
CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — A fire damaged Sonny’s Barbacoa on South Port Avenue Monday night, according to the Corpus Christi Fire Department.
Firefighters responded to the restaurant at 4066 S. Port Ave. and found flames coming from the back of the building and through the roof.
Crews first fought the flames from outside before going inside to extinguish the fire fully. Firefighters then checked the building to make sure the fire had not spread. No injuries were reported.
Sonny’s Barbacoa posted on Facebook following the fire, saying the restaurant will be “closed until further notice due to fire.”
A fire investigator was called to the scene. The cause of the fire has not been released.
