The Dallas Morning News is launching a program to recognize Dallas-area high school boys and girls athletes throughout the school year, culminating in a list of the Top 100 athletes in June.
The program, which kicks off Monday, features weekly voting for girls and boys sports. Five nominees are selected for each poll, and people can vote for their favorites during the week.
The links can be shared with friends and family via Facebook, X, Bluesky, email or text. People can also download the nomination cards for each athlete, which will feature their names and accomplishments, and use them to earn votes.
The winners of each weekly poll will be recognized through our SportsDayHS social media channels and in our newsletter.
Coaches, athletic directors and parents can nominate athletes before 5 p.m. Sunday. Submissions must include the athlete’s name, sport, grade, school, accomplishments, stats from the previous week of competition and an original headshot photo. The nominees will be revealed in the polls every Monday morning.
Voting on the polls runs through midnight Wednesday, and the winners will be revealed Thursday.
