The company, which has been a staple at the State Fair for over 80 years, released via Instagram this week this year’s menu of seven corn dogs, the most expensive being $9.
One of the least expensive is the concessionaire’s new chocolate corn dog, which won the Best Taste–Sweet in the Big Tex Choice Awards. For $7, fairgoers will get milk chocolate fudge fried in the Fletcher’s batter and topped with vanilla frosting and served with a cup of raspberry compote.
Being cost-conscious isn’t new for Fletcher’s.
Last year, for example, the concessionaire’s original corny dog was eight coupons and its Jalapeño & Cheese Corny Dog as well as its veggie one were nine coupons, according to a blog post from the State Fair. All three items will cost the same this year.
This year’s other offerings are The Texan all beef corn dog for nine coupons, The Bird, which is made with turkey breast, for eight coupons and The Cheezy Pup, a corny dog filled with cheese, for six coupons.
“For 84 years, Fletcher’s has believed a Texas tradition should be something as many Fairgoers and families as possible can enjoy,” the company said in its Instagram post.
“That means serving the same quality Corny Dogs families have loved for generations, taking care of the people who make them, and working hard to provide a great value year after year.”
