As the Ross Fire continues burning in North Texas, Houston-area firefighters and personnel have been deployed to help.
Montgomery County Office of Homeland Security and Emergency Management sent members of its Incident Management Team to assist with the Ross Fire containment efforts, the agency said Tuesday morning.
The Willowfork Fire Department in Katy and the Atascocita Fire Department sent firefighters to Palo Pinto and Jack Counties to help battle the blaze, according to Tuesday night Facebook posts.
Willowfork sent firefighters along with a tanker, while Atascocita sent seven firefighters and an ambulance bus. The Atascocita Fire Department said they would be helping with evacuations, firefighter rehab and patient care.
Early Wednesday morning, the Sheldon Community Fire & Rescue deployed four firefighters to help with the Ross Fire.
