SAN ANTONIO — A San Antonio attorney is accused of sexually touching a client without her consent inside the Bexar County Courthouse while representing her in a divorce case.

Attorney Arnulfo Ortiz was arrested Tuesday and charged with indecent assault, a Class A misdemeanor.

According to an arrest report, the woman told investigators the encounter happened Sept. 11, 2024, after she and Ortiz finished their business in Presiding Court.

The woman said Ortiz walked with her to a nearby conference room, where the two were alone. That’s when she said the encounter took an unwanted turn.

According to the arrest report, Ortiz grabbed the woman’s hand and placed it on his genitals. She immediately pulled her hand away. She told investigators Ortiz then kissed her near the side of her mouth without her consent.

The woman left the conference room and walked out of the courthouse.

But she said the encounter didn’t end there.

According to the arrest report, the woman heard someone calling her name once she was outside. When she turned around, she said she saw Ortiz.

“Look how you left me. What are we going to do about it?” Ortiz allegedly told her as she allegedly noticed the erection showing through his pants.

The woman responded, “That’s not my problem,” according to the report.

The woman later reported what happened to the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office.

Ortiz was released from the Bexar County Jail on $5,000 bond.
