LUBBOCK, TX (KCBD) – A Lubbock man accused of murder is back in the Lubbock County courthouse for a retrial after a mistrial was declared last month.
Arguments are underway in the retrial of Victor Yanez.
Yanez is accused of shooting and killing 38-year-old Joshua Rios on Clovis Road in April of 2025.
Yanez turned himself in three days after the shooting.
Last month, Judge William Eichman granted the defense’s motion for a mistrial after attorneys for Yanez said they did not have enough time to review police videos prosecutors presented as evidence.
