President Donald Trump is expected to arrive in Houston on Thursday afternoon for an overnight stay before visiting NASA’s Johnson Space Center on Friday.
The president is expected to land at Ellington Airport late Thursday afternoon. His motorcade route has not been released, but the visit could cause traffic delays along the Gulf Freeway and other roads in southeast Houston.
Trump is expected to attend a fundraising event Thursday night. Details about the event’s location and ticket prices have not been publicly released.
During his previous visit to Houston, Trump attended a fundraiser at the Post Oak Hotel in Uptown.
On Friday, the president is expected to honor members of the Artemis II crew at Johnson Space Center. Trump will award the Congressional Space Medal of Honor to NASA astronauts Reid Wiseman, Victor Glover and Christina Koch.
Only 30 astronauts have received the honor, according to NASA.
Trump is expected to leave Houston after the ceremony. Additional details about his departure and possible Friday traffic impacts have not been released.
