EL PASO, Texas (KTSM) – Authorities are seeking out justice for an “abandoned pup” that they said was left in Downtown El Paso.

El Paso Crime Stoppers posted about the alleged crime on Wednesday, August 27, also known as National Dog Day.

Footage shows an individual walking a dog on a leash along the 800 block of S. El Paso Street. Police officials stated that the man was recorded on camera in the evening hours of July 30, tying a dog to a bench before leaving the scene.

Abandoning a dog is illegal in Texas.

The recorded individual’s identity remains unknown as of Thursday, August 27.

“Let’s help get justice for this pup,” read the social media post.

Authorities are asking those who may have information about this case to call 915-566-8477 or to submit a tip online at cselpaso.org. A cash reward may be available for qualifying tips.
