Six Flags is bringing its corporate headquarters back to Texas after a three year stint in North Carolina, the company announced Tuesday.
“The decision to return the Company’s headquarters to Arlington is a continuation of our efforts to evolve the organization and enhance operational efficiency,” said John Reilly, Six Flags president and CEO, in a statement.
Choctaw Stadium in Arlington is already home to some Six Flags offices but will become the official headquarters for the theme park operator by March 2027 after the company decided to concentrate personnel in one location, according to a news release.
Six Flags moved its corporate headquarters to North Carolina in 2024 after the company merged with fellow theme park operator Cedar Fair in 2023. Together, Six Flags and Cedar Fair operate more than 30 theme and water parks across North America.
Moving headquarters back to Arlington is a homecoming for the company whose first theme park, Six Flags Over Texas, opened there in 1961.
“Arlington is a vibrant entertainment district where the Six Flags story began more than six decades ago with the opening of Six Flags Over Texas,” Reilly said. “The city sits at the heart of our five Texas parks and provides our leadership team with direct access to park operations and a regular on-the-ground presence.”
