It hasn’t even been a year since Sweet Stacks opened, drawing two-hour lines down Magnolia Avenue. And now the Fort Worth business is opening a second location.
Owner Mina Sourignavong previously told the Star-Telegram that when they first opened in December 2025, business automatically boomed. Her staff had to learn how to keep up. Most importantly, they had to educate customers on the time it takes to make their most popular dish. Japanese souffle pancakes (also known as sweet stacks) take at least 30 minutes, and are prepared fresh to order.
“We have customers willing to wait in line for two hours– whether they are happy about it or not,” Sourignavong said in January.
Well, business is still going strong nearly 10 months later as a second Sweet Stacks location has soft launched in Frisco.

What is a sweet stack?
A souffle pancake takes the French souffle cooking technique and applies it to the American pancake. The reason the dish is commonly associated with Japan is because souffle pancakes are most popular there. However, they originate from Hawaii.
At Sweet Stacks, the souffle pancakes are in stacks of two, topped with sweet or savory toppings. A fan favorite is their “monkey stack” with housemade chocolate sauce and fresh bananas.

Their menu also includes matcha lattes, made with matcha imported from Japan, and Thai dishes.
Sourignavong learned how to properly make matcha at a tea ceremony during a visit to Japan. Sweet Stack offers a variety of flavors, including plain, strawberry, mango, lemon, thai tea and brown sugar. Their coconut water topped with matcha has been a summer favorite.
Appetizers are pot-stickers, edamame, fresh spring rolls, crab rangoons, egg rolls, Lao spicy sausage and the newly added shrimp tempura. Fried rice and Pad Thai noodle dishes are made with a choice of protein– chicken, beef, tofu, veggie and shrimp. These dishes, while also made fresh to order, do not take 30 minutes.

Where to find Sweet Stacks
The original Sweet Stacks can be found at 1515 W. Magnolia Ave. in Fort Worth. They are open every day, except Monday, from 11 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. for lunch and then again from 5 to 9 p.m. for dinner.
The new Sweet Stacks location is in Frisco at 252 W. Stonebrook Parkway, Suite 640. They are still in their soft-opening phase with a grand opening to be determined. Hours are daily from 11 a.m. to 9 p.m.
