SAN ANTONIO — San Antonio Veterans Memorial High School opened the season with an incredible performance against Stevens High Shcool.
Despite the major weather delay, the Patriots took to the field and commanded the first half, preventing the Falcons from even scoring a single point in the first half, securing a major lead of 37 points in the first half.
Stevens High School attempted to rally in the second half, securing two touchdowns, but Veterans Memorial didn’t let up on the offensive play, bringing their score up to 57 points by the ebnd of the game, securing their first win of the season.
The Stevens Falcons and Veterans Memorial Patriots opened their football seasons Thursday night at Rutledge Stadium.
Both teams entered the matchup 0-0, making it the first game of the 2026 season for each program. Kickoff was delayed by about an hour, with the showdown kicking off around 8 p.m.
Thursday’s matchup, sponsored by Beluga Air, marked the first meeting between Stevens and Veterans Memorial.
