LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – After going into the locker room with a 15-13 lead, the Matadors put on a show in the second half by ending the game by scoring 32 unanswered points to win 47-13 in KCBD’s “Thursday Night Throwdown” season opener.
This was the first time since 2017 when the two schools went head-to-head.
The Westerners will return to TNT next week and will face off against Coronado. Next Friday, the Mats will meet Sweetwater at the Mustang Bowl.
