A man died Thursday night after his sedan crossed several lanes of traffic and crashed into a dumpster enclosure at an Arlington business, police said.

Officers responded shortly after 9 p.m. to the 1000 block of Arkansas Lane, near Southgate Street, after receiving reports of a single-vehicle crash, according to Arlington police.

Investigators believe the sedan was traveling east on Arkansas Lane when it crossed the center median and the westbound lanes. The vehicle continued through a grassy area, crossed Southgate Street and struck the enclosure.

The driver, who was the vehicle’s only occupant, was found unresponsive and taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Preliminary information indicates the driver, whose identity was not released, may have experienced a medical emergency before the crash, police said. The investigation remains ongoing.
