Texas A&M football remains undefeated after taming the Missouri Tigers on the road in a 38-17 win.

The No. 3 Aggies looked strong coming off a bye week, and the win over the Tigers starts a four-game stretch that will end the regular season. It is the Aggies’ first 6-0 start in conference play since 1998 and first 9-0 start since 1992.

Aggies quarterback Marcel Reed was 20 of 29, throwing for 221 yards and two touchdowns. The offense had impressive performances from a variety of characters, with the Aggies’ five touchdowns coming from four different players.

But it was Dalton Brooks who broke out for the Aggies.

In the second quarter, before EJ Smith’s touchdown made it 14-0, A&M forced a Missouri fumble from freshman quarterback Matt Zollers. As the ball flew backwards out of the backup’s hands, Brooks caught the ball in stride for a 26-yard run.

Late in the third quarter, with A&M up 21-7, the Aggies faked a punt and Brooks’ 48-yard run led to an Aggies field goal.

Yet, Missouri (6-3, 2-3) wasn’t going away that easy. Two touchdowns on two possessions in the fourth quarter closed the deficit to 14. But the Aggies just kept on scoring.

It’s expected to cool quite a bit in central Missouri late Saturday. But the game should be played in fair conditions: temperatures in the low 60s and high 50s and just a 20% chance of rain. Wind could be a factor with gusts as high as 26 mph, per the National Weather Service.
