The Federal Reserve Bank of Dallas releases its regional manufacturing survey, following up on reports of strong conditions across the industry in July.
The North Texas Commission’s Infrastructure Summit starts in Irving with mayors from several cities in the region, leaders from NCTCOG and TxDOT and major transportation builders such as AECOM. The event will run for two days at the Irving Convention Center and registration is required.

The Dallas Federal Reserve Service Sector survey will provide an update on the retail and service industries after a strong July that saw employment growth but low revenue growth.
The BLS’ Job Openings and Labor Turnover Summary showed a continually stagnant job market in July, with a little unchanged number of openings and turnover. Perhaps no news is good news. Will August’s report show more of the same?
Texas companies Dell and Academy Sports and Outdoors report financial results.
Wednesday, Sept. 2
Texas lawyer and Hill Country resident Tom Fox tells the story of the 2025 Central Texas flooding in his book Deluge Before Dawn: Heartbreak, Survival and Resilience After the Guadalupe River Raged. He’ll talk about it at Interabang Books.
The U.S. Federal Reserve’s Beige Book gives key insights from business leaders across the country. Last month’s report for the Texas region showed the continued economic headwinds: “Retail sales rose over the reporting period, an improvement contacts attributed to consumer resilience that supported purchases despite elevated gasoline prices. Retailers continued to observe divergence in spending patterns, with lower-income households increasingly prioritizing value in their purchases.” The report for August will be released Wednesday.
Major national consumer brands reporting earnings include Hewlett Packard, Ollie’s Bargain Outlet, American Eagle and Tilly’s.
Thursday, Sept. 3
Thursday is the first day of one of the region’s largest flea markets, when Canton First Mondays takes place during the weekend of the first Monday of every month. Travel east to Canton to see hundreds of booths spread out over 450 acres.
Dallas-based auto auction company Copart reports its fiscal fourth-quarter results along with national companies Lululemon, Campbell’s Co., Victorias Secret, Smith & Wesson, Torrid and Zumiez.
