Port Houston’s M/V Sam Houston provides a free, 90-minute guided cruise along the Houston Ship Channel, offering passengers views of cargo ships, industrial terminals, waterfront infrastructure, and activity around the Turning Basin Terminal.

Departing from Sam Houston Landing, Port Houston’s M/V Sam Houston provides passengers with a vantage point for viewing international cargo traffic and active commercial operations at the Turning Basin Terminal.

The 95-foot vessel holds up to 100 passengers, featuring a climate-controlled indoor lounge alongside open deck space for outdoor viewing.
Tours aboard the M/V Sam Houston are free, but advance reservations are required. At present, Port Houston releases online reservations on a weekly basis; bookings are first-come, first-served and must be made at least 24 hours before departure. Travelers should check the official tour page before leaving, as scheduled tours may be canceled without advance notice.
Tours depart from Sam Houston Landing at 7300 Clinton Drive. Guests should use Exit 28 from the I-610 East Loop, travel west on Clinton Drive, and enter through Gate 8. Free parking is available at the landing for cars, vans, and buses. Visitors should plan to arrive 15 to 30 minutes before their scheduled departure to complete check-in and security procedures.
