SAN ANTONIO – Storms swept through the San Antonio area Friday night, leaving damage across the region and thousands without power.
As of 10:00 a.m. Saturday, more than 68,000 CPS Energy customers remain without power after Friday’s storms.

CPS Energy and the City of San Antonio will provide an update on the utility’s efforts to restore power at 11 a.m. Saturday.

San Antonio Mayor Gina Ortiz Jones released a statement Saturday saying CPS Energy is working to restore power to thousands of residents following the storms.
“Power restoration efforts are expected to last into the weekend,” Jones said. “Debris clearance is underway, and please call 3-1-1 if you require assistance.”
Residents having issues calling 311 is asked to report storm related assistance using the online reporting options.
Jones said libraries and park centers will serve as cooling centers during normal operating hours Saturday. Pets will be accepted at all locations.
In an X post update, Jones said the following three libraries are without power and will not serve as cooling centers:
Bazan Branch Library
Las Palmas Branch Library
San Pedro Branch Library
