AUSTIN, TX, USA – A Texas-based sign company has completed the fabrication and installation of custom metal canopies for Black Rock Coffee Bar as the growing coffee brand continues expanding across the Austin market, working in collaboration with OPREX Construction. The project supports the continued Texas growth of Black Rock Coffee Bar, one of the fastest-growing drive-thru coffee brands in the United States. The Harker Heights location represents another addition to the company’s growing Central Texas presence and demonstrates the type of commercial development accompanying the brand’s expansion.
According to Texas project records, the Black Rock Coffee development was registered as an approximately $1.1 million new construction project encompassing 1,627 square feet of commercial space. The location became Black Rock’s 10th store in the Austin metro area, further demonstrating the company’s continued investment in the region.
Black Rock Coffee Bar reported 200 locations across seven states as of June 30, 2026, with plans for continued new-store development. The company’s 2026 outlook includes approximately 38 new store openings, creating continued opportunities throughout Texas and other growth markets.
For the Austin-area project, the Texas-based sign company fabricated and installed several custom metal canopies designed specifically for the new coffee location. Metal canopies provide both architectural and functional value, helping define entrances, customer areas, drive-thru environments, and other high-visibility portions of commercial properties.
For developers and general contractors, exterior architectural elements such as metal canopies, monument signs, pole signs, and pylon signs can become important components of a property’s finished appearance. These features require coordination among architects, contractors, developers, specialty fabricators, and installation teams to ensure the finished elements complement the overall design.
The canopy work was completed in collaboration with OPREX Construction, a Texas commercial construction company providing general contracting, construction management, preconstruction, and design-build services.
