Hitting the road was no help for Dallas Trinity FC as the team lost its second consecutive match Saturday, falling 2-0 to Sporting Jax at Hodges Stadium in Jacksonville, Florida.

Baylee DeSmit scored in the 45th minute to give Sporting Jax a 1-0 lead just before halftime, and the team continued to attack in the second half. It all but sealed the game with a goal from Sophia Boman in the 79th minute, and Trinity FC failed to mount any kind of comeback.

Jacksonville remains at the top of the Gainbridge Super League table as the only team to win its first three matches. Trinity FC settles into seventh after securing just one point in the season’s early going.

Trinity FC has an opportunity to change the direction of its season next week, when they return home to face a league-worst Brooklyn FC squad.
