Porsche coupe went airborne after striking curb and crashed into pole

HOUSTON – A driver is dead after losing control of a white Porsche coupe this morning on Houston’s South Loop feeder road, Houston Police Department confirmed.
The crash happened around 1:12 a.m. at 2500 South Loop West, in front of Pappasito’s Cantina.
According to HPD, the driver exited the South Loop’s main lanes at Kirby Drive and continued at a high rate of speed along the feeder road. The driver lost control, struck a curb and went airborne before the Porsche slammed into a pole.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver appeared to be the only occupant of the vehicle and had not been identified as of early this morning.
Speed is believed to have been a factor in the crash. Whether intoxication played a role remains under investigation, authorities said.
