SAN ANTONIO – Our Lady of the Lake University will cancel all classes and close its San Antonio campus on Monday, Aug. 31, 2026, as it continues responding to storm-related power outages, damage and cleanup efforts following a weekend storm.
The university said the decision is meant to prioritize the safety and well-being of students, faculty and staff while allowing personnel to continue restoration and recovery efforts across campus.
Over the weekend, the university said members of the OLLU community cleared debris, cleaned campus facilities and began restoring the university’s grounds and operations. Students, faculty, staff and facilities and operations teams worked together in cleanup efforts, according to the university.

Students will receive an excused absence for Monday’s closure. The university said students should communicate with their professors regarding any new deadlines, rescheduled assignments, examinations or other academic requirements affected by the closure.
OLLU said it will continue monitoring campus conditions and recovery efforts and will notify the campus community by 3 p.m. Monday, Aug. 31, about the status of campus operations and classes for Tuesday, Sept. 1.
