LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Hot and dry conditions will persist through the remainder of the week and straight into September, with no significant changes expected to the forecast pattern.
Temperatures will remain hot but should stay below Heat Advisory criteria of 105° at all locations. High temperatures will inch slightly lower Monday and Tuesday as an upper-level high pressure system moves toward the Ohio River Valley, but the change will be minimal. Lows and highs are expected to hover around 10 degrees above normal.

Moisture remains too limited for meaningful rain chances, though a window could crack open by late week. Afternoon cumulus clouds may develop, but no precipitation is expected through Tuesday.
August is closing the gap with 2011 as one of the warmest months on record in Lubbock. September is starting off exactly where August left off, hot and dry, with no large change in the temperature pattern expected.
