SAN ANTONIO — A 35-year-old man died after being shot during an early morning altercation near Hemisfair Plaza over the weekend.
Officers were called to the shooting just before 5 a.m. Saturday to the 600 block of Hemisfair Plaza Way.
When officers arrived, they found a man, identified by San Antonio police as Jonathan Alderete, with an apparent gunshot wound.
Police said Alderete and an unknown suspect had been involved in a physical altercation over property before the suspect shot him and fled the area.
Alderete was taken to a local hospital for treatment but later died from his injuries. He was pronounced dead at the hospital.
No suspect description has been released. The investigation remains ongoing.
