Crystals Event Center, located at 2407 Cornell St, has been posted for sale. The venue has hosted many musical acts over the years, including Tejano/ Norteno, Hip-Hop, DJ sets, and much more. It also served as a rentable event space for weddings, quinceañeras, birthday parties, etc. I was able to find a listing for the club as early as 2003, but I believe the club goes back even further- and the building certainly does.

What Could Be The Future Of Crystals?

Crystals has many fun (and some rowdy) memories for a lot of Lubbock locals- and yes, it was primarily a locals club. However, with a distance of less than 2 miles from Tech, it could possibly become a college spot if the new owner chooses to take that route/ risk. The area is technically zoned for “light industrial,” meaning there are nearby warehouses, etc. nearby, so it’s not an exceptionally beautiful area. However, there are restaurants nearby, and ultimately it IS Lubbock- where nothing is that far out of the way.

It is possible that a new owner would simply want the land, but at that price point I’d imagine any future owner would want the building, too. So the safest bet is that Crystals will continue to be Crystals (or a renamed version of Crystals) for at least the next few years. However, Lubbock is constantly growing and changing, especially near Texas Tech, so really anything is possible.
