HORIZON CITY, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — Two Horizon City parents were arrested last week on child endangerment charges after a small child was found walking alone in the street, according to the El Paso County Sheriff’s Office.

Deputies responded at about 1 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 26, to the 13800 block of Margaret Ponce Avenue after a concerned community member called about a small child walking alone in the street.

According to the sheriff’s office, the investigation determined that 24-year-old Arely Soriano and 25-year-old Ivan Soriano had allegedly left their 2-year-old child and 10-month-old child unattended while attending a gathering down the street, where they consumed alcoholic beverages.

Arely Soriano and Ivan Soriano were each arrested and charged with two counts of abandoning or endangering a child. Bond was set at $2,000 for each individual, the sheriff’s office said.

Both were booked into the El Paso County Detention Facility.
