Sheriff: Bob Hall Pier vandals identified, warrants being issued

According to Sheriff J.C. Hooper, the vandals have been identified, warrants have been issued, and arrests are forthcoming.

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas — Four suspects have been identified and should be apprehended soon, according to Nueces County Sheriff J.C. Hooper.

Hooper told 3NEWS on Thursday that warrants are being issued and the Corpus Christi Police Department will be involved with the arrests.

No word yet on when that will be.  

The four are wanted after being filmed by security cameras at the construction site they allegedly vandalized. 

Scott Cross, Director of Nueces County Coastal Parks, said four people jumped a fence surrounding the construction site and entered the building Sunday night into Monday morning. While nothing was stolen, Cross said multiple pieces of equipment, furniture and the project’s blueprints were damaged after being thrown into the water.

“A generator, some very expensive shop fans, a chair, tables, even the blueprints. They had to throw the blueprints in the ocean. I think my contractor was more upset about the blueprints,” Cross said.

The Nueces County Sheriff’s Office had previously said it was working with Corpus Christi police to gather information and review video from the incident.
