EL PASO, TEXAS (KFOX14/CBS4) — A contractor working at the Marathon Refinery in Central El Paso was injured over the weekend during on-site maintenance and repair work, the company said Monday.
In a statement to KFOX14/CBS4, Marathon confirmed the contractor was injured Saturday and was taken to a medical facility.
“A contractor at Marathon’s El Paso refinery was transported to a medical facility on Saturday after being injured during maintenance and repair work being conducted on-site,” a Marathon spokesperson said.
While the contractor’s condition and what caused the injury remain unclear, Marathon said it will be conducting an investigation into the incident.
“The safety of our personnel and the community are our top priority, and an investigation will be conducted to determine how the injury happened and to identify any corrective actions that may be needed,” a Marathon spokesperson said.
