Of the 40 or so players who didn’t make the cut, Dallas has 17 spots on their practice squad to return some of those who didn’t make the active roster, assuming they cleared waivers. That’s 16 spots plus one more designated spot for the International Player Pathway Program, which the Cowboys are taking advantage of.
The Cowboys have already filled 13 of their practice squad spots, with the dust still settling before Week 1 kickoff against the Giants on Sept. 13.

RB Israel Abanikanda – Third-year back who rushed for 55 yards on 15 carries during the preseason.
LB Justin Barron – Barron spent most of last season on the practice squad after signing with Dallas as an undrafted free agent.
DT Tommy Dunn – Young lineman who’s a product of Naaman Forest HS.
OT Marcellus Johnson – 26-year-old journeyman offensive lineman who’s never gotten into a regular-season game.
CB Derion Kendrick – The most experienced member of Dallas’ practice squad, he’s played 47 career games with LA and Seattle.
WR Anthony Smith – A seventh-round rookie pick of Dallas’ in April’s draft. He caught five passes for 37 yards in the preseason.
TE Michael Trigg – Former Baylor Bear who will stick around as the highest-paid undrafted free agent the Cowboys signed in this year’s class.
OLB Isaiah Land – Former Colts LB who spent all last year on the Cowboys’ practice squad.
OL Nick Leverett – The Cowboys likely wanted both Leverett and Trevor Keegan back, but only Leverett made it through waivers.
DT Adedayo Odeleye (International player) – Odeleye was born in Nigeria and moved to England when he was nine.
LB Curtis Robinson – The Cowboys cut both Robinson and Barron and are, for now, light at LB on the active roster.
CB Reddy Steward – Claimed by Dallas last season and played in all 17 games for the Cowboys.
