Body recovered from Canyon Lake identified as Wimberly man, deputies say

CANYON LAKE, Texas — The man whose body was recovered from Canyon Lake over the weekend has been identified.

The man was identified as 40-year-old Robert Allen Chapman of Wimberly, Texas, according to the Comal County Sheriff’s Office.

Comal County deputies responded to Canyon Park Road on Sunday morning following a report of a deceased person in the water.

The sheriff’s office Marine Enforcement Unit located the body of an adult male near the shoreline.

The Texas Parks and Wildlife Department, Canyon Lake Fire/EMS, and Comal County Constable Precincts 1 and 3 assisted with the recovery.

The sheriff’s office continues to investigate the circumstances surrounding Chapman’s death.
