BCSO: Woman found dead off I-35 in Southeast Bexar County

Bexar County Sheriff’s Office – Sheriff Javier Salazar announces body found in Von Ormy (September 1, 2026)

SAN ANTONIO (KTSA News) — A woman is dead, and the Bexar County Sheriff’s Office is trying to figure out why she died, and also who she is.

Sheriff Javier Salazar says she was found Tuesday morning around 6 a.m. along an I-35 access road in southwest Bexar County. Investigators think the woman may have been dumped there.

Von Ormy utility workers found the woman near the 13800 block of I-35 and Benton City Road, and she is believed to be in her late 20s or early 30s. Investigators say she had only been at the scene for a few hours.

Salazar said there were no obvious signs of trauma. The sheriff said the area has frequently been used to dump bodies in connection with smuggling, though it is unclear whether that played a role in this case.
