Oregon State football is preparing to kick off the new year on the road for the first time since the 2023 season when the Beavers head down south to face top 25 ranked Houston on Saturday.
With the Beavers opening the season in hostile territory with a rebuilt roster, coach Shephard and the Beavers are preparing for every ounce of adversity that comes with a season opener. Reedifying the winning culture in Corvallis coach Shephard is reshaping how the team responds to adversity and embodying the next play mentality.
“Coach Shep has already said adversity is going to happen and when adversity comes, he talks about going 1-0,” said Reichle. “Next play you know. When something happens, what are we going to do to fix it? Next play, that play is gone you can’t change it. What are we going to do on the next play to win that rep. Nothing is going to be easy, everything is going to be earned, but our confidence is coming through our preparation and where just trying to prepare for everything and just be in the right mindset to go down there and do our job and pull out a win. “
The beavers are entering Saturdays match-up as a 20.5-point underdog, however, the last time the Beavers started the season on the road in 2023 Oregon State won the first three games that year.
