SAN ANTONIO – A Bexar County sheriff’s deputy has resigned after she was arrested Tuesday on a charge tied to an alleged incident in Laredo.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said Anabell Rivera was arrested on a warrant for tampering with a government record. The warrant was issued Aug. 31.

Officials said the alleged conduct happened before Rivera began working for BCSO. She had worked for the sheriff’s office for two years.

Rivera resigned instead of being fired.

The Laredo Police Department is investigating the case.
