INGLESIDE, Texas (KRIS) — Due to loss of pressure from a water main break, the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality is asking City of Ingleside water customers to boil all water before consumption starting Tuesday.
This includes things like washing hands or face, brushing teeth, drinking, among others.
Children, seniors and people with weakened immune systems are particularly vulnerable to harmful bacteria.
Water for drinking, cooking and ice making should be brought to a vigorous boil and then boiled for two minutes and cooled.
The public water system will issue a notice to customers once the boil water notice has been rescinded.
The Ingleside Independent School District is asking families to send their children to school with one bottle of drinking water tomorrow.
“Ingleside ISD is aware of the current water boil notice and is working diligently to secure an adequate supply of water to support school operations tomorrow (9/2/26).
As an added precaution, we ask that families who are able, to send their child to school with one bottle of drinking water tomorrow. This will help supplement the water supply available on our campuses.
We appreciate our families’ patience and cooperation as we navigate this together. We will continue to monitor the situation closely and will provide updates to students, staff, and families as more information becomes available.”
