LUBBOCK, Texas (KCBD) – Lubbock Police say the reward connected to a 2017 fatal hit-and-run has been increased in hopes to generate fresh leads in the case.
On February 10, 2017, at 12:36 a.m., a Lubbock Police Officer was flagged down by a motorist regarding an individual walking in the middle of the street on the eastbound access road near the Marsha Sharp Freeway and Avenue Q.
Upon approaching the scene, the officer saw a male lying in the road. 21-year-old Alcadio Barron was pronounced deceased at the scene, prompting an investigation by the Lubbock Police Department’s Major Crash Unit.
LPD says over the course of the last nearly 10 years, investigations have followed up on hundreds of leads. However, the case remains unsolved. Anyone with information about the circumstances surrounding the hit-and-run is asked to call tips in to Crime Line at (806) 741-1000.
LPD says the reward increase is from family members and the public can call Crime Line to share any new leads.
Individuals who provide information leading to an arrest and conviction of the suspect could be eligible for a reward of up to $5,000.
