Six Flags Entertainment Corporation, the parent company that owns Six Flags Great America in north suburban Gurnee, is moving its corporate headquarters next year from Charlotte, North Carolina, to Arlington, Texas, where the company currently has a corporate office.
The company announced the move Tuesday and says the Arlington headquarters will serve as the main hub for Six Flags’ corporate leadership and shared business functions. The headquarters will be in Choctaw Stadium, which was the home of MLB’s Texas Rangers from 1994 to 2019 and has served as a Six Flags corporate office since 2020.
The move is expected to be completed in March 2027, Six Flags says.
According to the company, the location in Arlington will bring leadership closer to Six Flags’ five properties in Texas. The company’s portfolio includes 34 parks and nine resorts. It was formed on July 1, 2024, in a merger between the former Six Flags company and the former Cedar Fair company.
“Arlington is a vibrant entertainment district where the Six Flags story began more than six decades ago with the opening of Six Flags Over Texas,” Six Flags President and CEO John Reilly said in a news release. “The city sits at the heart of our five Texas parks and provides our leadership team with direct access to park operations and a regular on-the-ground presence.”

Cedar Fair’s main park was Cedar Point in Sandusky, Ohio, now part of the Six Flags portfolio. The company says it will continue to have an office in Sandusky and also that it will continue to be a major employer in the Charlotte area, where it owns Carowinds and Carolina Harbor.
