Shaquille O’Neal is turning up the music in North Texas this month.

Credit One Bank announced Wednesday, Sept. 2 that O’Neal is hosting a new initiative that educates college students on how to build healthy credit habits. Students will get a chance to hear O’Neal’s advice and experience, and see him perform a set as his music alter ego — DJ Diesel.

The credit tour will visit four universities across the country this fall, with the first stop planned for SMU’s Moody Coliseum on Sept. 14. The Dallas event is free and open to 500 enrolled students, who can register for tickets here.

“I’m always learning, I never stop,” O’Neal said in a press release. “I learned credit the hard way. Nobody broke it down for me back then. Now I’ve got kids in college, kids right out of it, and I want them starting smarter than I did. That’s what the Credit One Bank Credit Tip Off Tour is about. And yeah, we’re still going to have fun.”

Content creator Jenna Bandy is moderating the Dallas event that features a chat between O’Neal and Michael Coleman, Credit One Bank’s chief marketing officer.

In addition to the chat, there will be interactive games and activities available at the event. Then, as the lights go down, O’Neal will transform into DJ Diesel for a live set.

Following SMU, the tour will visit Georgia State University, Fred’s Bar in Louisiana and Florida Atlantic University through early November.

“Credit education isn’t often taught in school, so we built this tour with Shaquille O’Neal to help close that gap and empower young people to make informed credit decisions,” Coleman said in a press release. “As the brand that believes in forward momentum, we’re meeting students where they are to kick-start their credit education in a memorable, engaging way and help set them up for a successful financial future.”
